This inviting restaurant at 303 3rd St Unit 140 is the perfect spot for anyone craving fresh, flavorful dishes that seamlessly blend tradition with a contemporary twist.
Mahkin’s menu impresses with a versatile range of options, from succulent Thai classics like the Eggplant Delight Chicken — tender chicken breast sautéed with spicy fresh chili, garlic, and fragrant basil — to the robust umami notes of their Broccoli Beef, showcasing perfectly cooked beef paired with crisp, vibrant broccoli in a savory sauce. Not to be missed are their sushi offerings, where freshness is paramount. The Albacore Roll and Salmon Sashimi provide a clean, buttery taste that sushi aficionados will appreciate, while selections like the Veggie Roll offer a lighter, refreshing alternative.
The lunch plates strike a harmonious balance between variety and quality, making them a popular choice for a midday treat. The Prig King Pork dazzles with its blend of garlic, sweet and sour sauce, red curry paste, and kaffir lime leaves, delivering a complex yet comforting flavor profile. For sushi lovers, options like the Classic Rolls—including the creamy avocado and crisp cucumber rolls—are beautifully crafted, showcasing delicate textures and fresh ingredients, perfect for a casual bite or a more filling meal.
Dining at Mahkin Thai & Sushi is more than just a meal; it’s an experience. With a friendly and modern atmosphere, complemented by proximity to the iconic Huntington Beach Pier and the refreshing coastal breeze, it presents a welcoming setting to unwind with friends or family. Though their beverage selection is somewhat limited, featuring a single beer on tap as noted by loyal guests, the quality of food more than compensates, making it a worthwhile culinary destination.
The consistent praise from patrons speaks volumes. Enthusiasts like John Stull and Sonickev highlight the restaurant’s commitment to freshness and flavor, making Mahkin a staple in the local dining scene. The 15% discount for larger groups on certain nights also adds great value, especially for those looking to enjoy a group gathering without compromising on quality. Whether you’re drawn by the rich, filling sushi rolls or the vibrant fusion dishes, Mahkin Thai & Sushi is a place that invites you to explore the best of Asian cuisine in a relaxed, beach-town vibe.

Great quality, fresh fish, and tasty Sushi. The Pad See Ew was not the best we've had. Only one beer on tap. Wish they had a couple more choices. I'd visit back only for the sushi.

Great food, decent service. Close proximity to PCH, our hotel on Main, I would go back.

Dinner for a Group of 7 on a Monday Night. This is significant for Huntington Beach residents because there is a 15% discount. This almost cobers the tip, an automatic 20% for parties over 6. We had Baked Salmon Roll which like the Surf City Roll are very rich and filling. Slso tried a classic Crunchy Roll which was fine, not unique but good. The Cali-Mango Roll is a little on the sweet side, which was ok because they were out of Mango/Sweet Sticky Rice by the time for dessert. We did attempt to order it early but were told that they'd have some for us but to no avail. Seems like there is a shortage ofmsngo this time of year. In my defense, it was on the Special Board, so you'd expect to not run out or erase it (photo). We shared a bottle of Plum Wine, so everyone got a taste. Bill was around $250 after everything was added up and discounted. Ambiance was a little on the noisy side but you could still have a conversation.

This is my favorite place in HB Main St area (pier). I have been here over and over. Never disappoints. Sushi here is fresh and killer. All other dishes fresh and flavorful. I have loved every plate I tried here. They have earned a spot in my rotation.

It is always hard to give a restaurant 5 stars for their food and service because the food could always be better/perfect and the service could always be better. So I base my rating on the overall experience including the price and location. For Huntington Beach and about $40/cover, this is easily a 5 star experience. It is very close to the beach, clean, friendly, modern and over staffed for your convenience. The food was delivered fast, it looked wonderful and tasted great. Flawless. Personally, I prefer more flavor to my Thai food, so I don't expect it to be subtle. But it was. There wasn't enough punch in the things I expect like Basil, Peanut, chili, etc. But the food was still great, personally I just wanted more of those signature that flavors. The staff were excellent, with smiles, humor, advice and attention. We were immediately seated and given a preference for where we sat. The sushi bar also looks excellent, but we didn't try it this time. We will definitely be back for that another time soon.

I have been looking around for the best Thai restaurant in Huntington Beach and decided to try this place. Came around lunchtime and there was only one group besides myself. It’s a newly upgraded restaurant and the interior is nice and upscale. I was seated quickly, and the service was attentive, and I decided to order the yellow curry. Have a lunch special for 16 bucks that comes with rice and cream cheese wonton but I don’t like cream cheese in my Thai food and I asked the server if lunch portion was smaller and they said yes so I decided to go with the regular entrée for one dollar more ($17). However, the waitress let me know that it doesn’t come with rice so I had to pay an extra three dollars to get white rice and I never like that, the rice is cheap and who wants curry with no rice whatsoever so I felt like that was an up charge. I got my order promptly and it was definitely on the small side, if you don’t have a big appetite, it would be enough for you, but it kind of left me wanting more. However, the quality of it was very good and it was extremely tasty. I would’ve given it five stars if they didn’t charge the extra three bucks for the rice on the side bc I did enjoy the food
